Nissan Maxima Brake System
The braking system is the most important system in you Nissan Maxima. If the
brakes fail, the result can be disastrous. The brakes are in essence energy conversion
devices, which convert the kinetic energy (momentum) of your vehicle into thermal
energy (heat).
The Nissan Maxima brake system is mostly composed of brake rotors, brake pads,
brake lines, conversion kits and many more. Modern cars such as the Nissan Maxima
have anti-lock" brake systems " (ABS) which prevent the wheels from completely
stopping when the brakes are applied in a panic stop.
When you step on the brake the motor switches into "generator mode", and stores
the car's momentum as chemical energy in the battery, to be used when the light
turns green!
Standard in the new Nissan Maxima is its Electronic Brake force Distribution
(EBD), which optimizes brake force depending on load condition (passenger and
cargo) and Brake Assist (BA), which senses hard or panic pedal application and
helps provide maximum braking capacity.
