2003 Nissan Maxima

The 2003 Maxima is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, or sports sedan, available in 3 trims, ranging from the GXE to the GLE. The 2003 Maxima's closest competitors include the Audi A4, the Kia Amanti, and the Volkswagen Passat.

Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 255-horsepower engine that uses 12-L/100k in the city and 8-L/100k on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

The 2003 Maxima is a carryover from 2002. 2003 Maxima features an MSRP of $25,649 (manual and automatic transmission) for the most popular SE model. Other 2003 models include the Maxima GXE with automatic transmission, which starts at an MSRP of $24,899 and the luxurious GLE with automatic transmission, which starts at an MSRP of $27,549.

Maxima's new Titanium Edition Package is a new option available only on SE models. Designed to enhance Maxima's already high level of sportiness, the Titanium Edition Package features a BoseŽ audio system with AM/FM in-dash 6-disc CD changer, front seat side-impact supplemental air bags, in-mirror compass, stainless steel sill plates with Maxima logo, floor mats, titanium-tint color accent on center console, steering wheel and shifter, and alloy wheels with dark chrome finish.

The 2003 Maxima employs a 255-horsepower V6 engine, part of the VQ engine series that has been named one of the "10 Best Engines" by Ward's Auto World for eight consecutive years.
